Once Upon a time

A girl was hiding from the police after her house caught on fire.Wait wait wait that's the wrong order. Hold up.Okay. Everything started when a girl was born a little weird. Socializing was a little hard. She liked things to be a certain way and she swore she could see and hear things and influence things with her mind if she really wanted to. Her parents, thinking she was just very imaginative, dismissed it as her playing and exploring. That is until she reached adulthood and more things started happening.Whenever she would look at them, they felt stuck in place as if she could hold them in a conversation even if they didn't want to be. And then... the snakes in her hair started appearing. They were small things at first and whenever they grew and shed, they assumed it was just dandruff.But they kept growing and hurting the poor girls head until finally, a bigger green one appeared. Viridian, or Viri as Tina would call her, was essentially an old woman in a snake's body. She told Tina what to do, what to say, how to act, etc. And Tina didn't like it. As the eldest daughter in the house and already being considered "weird" she'd always been told what to do. So she pushed back. And argued with the evergrowing snake.Unfortunately, one of those arguments turned ugly and before the both of them knew it... the house was on fire. Oops.And what made matters worse, when her and her family safely evacuated the blaze... they began turning to stone. She tried her best to reverse whatever was happening, but nothing she could do would help.To avoid the authorities from asking questions or getting turned to stone as well, Tina hid her family in hopes for a cure and ran to find a safe place to stay.After wandering in the cold rain, she found a misty place. A furnished greenhouse out in the woods with a massive overgrown garden. It looked both abandoned and lived in somehow. After exploring it and trying to find whoever owned it, her and Viri felt that it belonged to her. The same way that little Tina felt she could move things with her mind.She lounged on the dusty sofa, resting from the cold momentarily before going to fetch her family. She wished with all her heart that she didn't have to make that trek again and... then they appeared. The sound of scraping stone awoke her from her sleepy rest and she found them standing in a small gazebo in the garden."Did I... do that," Tina had asked Viri. They spent the rest of the night trying to see what all else Tina could do. She summoned food, lighting, and various comforts for a home. She accidentally summoned a few food delivery drivers instead of the food directly, but that's why the protective fog surrounds the premises now. She wanted to ensure people stayed out for their own safety.She would also summon a computer, internet, and some books to keep her company in the lonely greenhouse. Viri would even tell her stories of gorgons and ancient Greece from what she knew to help the Gorgon sleep on the harder nights.And that was her life for a few years. It was pleasant. At first. She even stumbled across a small white snake, shivering from the cold rain and allowed him to stay with her. Originally named Snoodle for resting in a bowl of ramen to warm himself, the snake began to grow and take on a personality of himself. He has chosen the name Slyther instead and now rests lovingly on the Gorgon.
But sadly... the snakes as much as she learned to love and hate them at times, weren't the kind of company she wanted 24/7. She missed people, even if people still scared her.So she decided to be brave and take control of her life somehow. She sat in front of that computer and started making content and streaming. And who knows? Maybe she'll find a cure for the stone sculptures in her garden. And maybe one day she'll get over her fear of people and learn that she can still be herself even if she is a little weird.
